The Fourteenth Saturday Linky Love

It’s a little late, but here it is!

  1. An Open Letter to Kim Kardashian by Bianca Juarez. We can mock the 72 day marriage all day long, but it is still the end of marriage. It really isn’t that funny after all.
  2. Resolving Miscommunication: “Nothing” Guy Edition by Sharideth Smith. Guys, when you say nothing, you probably do mean nothing. But girls assume that nothing has everything to do with them. So maybe just take a minute and say what is bothering you instead of saying nothing.
  3. Resolving Miscommunication: “Nothing” Girl Edition by Sharideth Smith. Ladies, don’t say nothing when you don’t mean it. And let’s face it, we rarely mean it when we say nothing. Just say what is on your mind!
  4. The Good Guys: They Are Out There by Hannah Brencher. Beautiful words of inspiration.
  5. Social Media is Killing Storytelling on the Good Men Project. Why tell stories when you can just read Facebook updates? Will we tell our children stories from our lives, or will we just let them read them on the internet?
  6. We Need More Weird Writers by Jeff Goins. I want to be a weird writer, but above all, I want to be me.
  7. I Am Not Your Holy Spirit by Joy Bennett. It is so easy to pour guilt on others when we have seen the brokenness in the world, but Joy reminds us that isn’t our job.
  8. Bubble Bursting Time by Lauren Jean. There are three ways to deal with your bubble. How do you do it?
And in case you didn’t hear, I totally survived my first earthquake this weekend! I’ve always been out of town when they happened, so I might have been a little excited. The picture below made me laugh. And then shake my head and sigh.

Blame November

Happy Saturday, friends!!

I must apologize, I neglected to write this Saturday’s Linky Love post in advance. The gloriousness of November has distracted me. I’m out of town this weekend with limited Internet access, so look for the Linky post tomorrow evening.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend. I’m spending it watching college football with family and friends – Boomer Sooner, go Pokes, and Roll Tide! :)

Giving Thanks Challenge

I’m working on a couple different ideas for the next series, but for now I’m going to participate in the Giving Thanks Challenge.

It’s so easy to skip over Thanksgiving. I mean, I was listening to Christmas music before Halloween, so I clearly am guilty of it. But this year I want to spend more time being thankful. I started counting my gifts in January, but I haven’t been quite as faithful in keeping track as I would like.

So once or twice a week this month, I’ll be sharing a post of thankfulness.

This week I’m thankful for:

  • The cool air that blew through last night. It’s boot season again!
  • The changing leaves; so beautiful.
  • Cold medicine and Kleenex. And at least I haven’t lost my voice.
  • Our incredibly low electric bill. Finally learning to conserve energy.
  • Everyone who took the time to read the Singleness series. Seriously, thank you.
What about you? What are you thankful for this week?

Beware…

There is a huge difference between October 31st and November 1st.
